- Attends a minimum of 70% of all troop meetings, PLCs, campouts, service projects
- Introduces new Scouts to troop operations
- Coaches the new Patrol Leader on his duties
- Helps the patrol on planning for troop meetings and outings including equipment lists and menu planning, etc.
- Guides new Scouts through early Scouting skills and activities
- Helps new Scouts with advancement through First Class either by teaching the required skills or by setting up situations for meeting the requirements.
- Guides the Troop Instructors in teaching special skills
- Attends PLC meetings with the new Patrol Leader
- Coaches individual Scouts on Scouting skills and challenges
- Ensures older Scouts never harass or bully new Scouts
- Serve as a member of the Patrol Leaders’ Council
- Provide a TO Report to the SPL at each PLC either oral if you attend or written if you are not there
- Inform the SPL if you are not going to make an event and find a replacement
- Set a Good Example
- Wear the Scout uniform correctly
- Live by the Scout Oath and Law
- Show and help develop Scout spirit
