- Attends a minimum of 50% of all troop meetings, PLCs, campouts, service projects
- Plan and lead patrol meetings, activities, hikes and patrol campouts and report attendance to the Scoutmaster and SPL
- Appoint an Assistant Patrol Leader who functions as Patrol leader in his absence
- Make sure menus get planned, for outings and appoint Patrol Grubmaster who buys food and collects money from Patrol members for outings.
- Keep patrol members informed by calling them regularly to keep them informed of camp outs, Troop Meetings, activities, service projects, etc.
- Serve as or appoint a Patrol Quartermaster who will keep track of all Patrol equipment between outings and who will supervise cleaning of that equipment after each outing. Inventory and clean the Patrol Box
- Represent the Patrol at PLC meetings; report back to the Patrol on responsibilities for Troop meetings and outings
- Plan and lead a monthly Patrol meeting during the appointment period
- Plan and execute one Patrol Activity, Camp Out Service project while a Patrol Leader
- Help any members of the Patrol with advancement through First Class, either by teaching the required skills or by setting up situations for meeting the requirements.
- Provide a Patrol Leader Report to the SPL at each PLC either oral if you attend or written if you are not there
- Keep track of the Patrol Flag and bring it to meetings as required
- Inform the SPL if you are not going to make an event and find a replacement
- Set a Good Example
- Wear the Scout uniform correctly
- Live by the Scout Oath and Law
- Show and help develop Scout spirit
